What were we going to do about having some wedding photos? I’ve never felt comfortable in front of a camera and the only person who has taken good photos of me is my now husband. Being the groom he could hardly be the photographer on the day.

By chance and through a link of mutual friends we made contact with Mark. We arranged a meeting to discuss our needs and wants for our day. Mark was attentive to our ideas and suggested a few of his own which we were both agreeable to. Having looked through his portfolio of various subjects and talking everything through we felt completely at ease with Mark and had no doubts about commissioning him for our day.

Mark was punctual, arriving in plenty of time to capture everyone arriving and to set up the traditional shots of the wedding party. I don’t like posing so we mostly gave Mark free rein to snap away using his own judgement. Mark made us all feel at ease and most of the time we were unaware of what shots he was taking. This allowed us to get on with enjoying ourselves with our guests.

Then came the day to view the photos. What can we say; we were knocked out at how incredibly well he had interpreted exactly what we wanted. We have some beautiful photos of us and our daughters; we have our memories indelibly captured forever.

If you are looking for someone who listens to what you want, who has the ability to capture these special moments then Mark is your man. All our family and friends have commented on how beautiful the photos are. Chris and I have no doubts Mark will continue to provide exactly what the Bride and Groom want to record their memorable day.

I'm just writing to thank you so much for the amazing photos you took at my mother's 70th birthday party recently, getting a picture of all the grandchildren together was a feat in itself but what a beautiful photograph it is, I know that my mother will treasure it.  The evening was one that we will all remember and you made it extra special by giving us such great memories in the photos you took of all mum's friends and relatives, we hardly knew you were there and couldn't have asked for it to be any better.  I will certainly be recommending Mark Thompson Photography to all my friends.

Alison Fletcher - Jenny's 70th

I personally don't like studio photoshoots or 'posed for' photos of my family. My brief to Mark and Jen was to capture the personality of my family in a location we all love and feel comfortable in, and for the photos to be natural, playful shots.  They delivered this and more.  I don't like being in front of the camera.  However having a photoshoot in this way, didn't feel intimidating or embarrassing & allowed my energic 3 and 6 year olds to run about as much as they liked without feeling they were on show.  I fully recommend Jen's organisational skills and the fact she made great friends with my children, and Mark's patience and above all, his clear artistic talent for photography and capturing those wonderful memories that are now all over my house.
